Farm to Table Reception Sites

Green weddings are “in” but lets hope they are here to stay. If you are considering an eco-friendly event, start with the basics – your location. When scouting for the perfect reception venue, think about farm to table restaurants. The Northeast is home to incredibly talented chefs utilizing the earth’s bounty to create their culinary masterpieces. Not only are these restaurants producing farm fresh fabulous eats, the chefs at the heart of these restaurants truly believe in supporting local agriculture, furthering education in environmental sustainability and many whom I have met are incredibly modest for their talent. Often the decor and mood of these locations reflect the chef and his or her beliefs.
Banquet menus are not the norm. Everything changes, sometimes on a daily basis. Entrees are created from what is available from local farms. The reception menu you end up with is a blend of the season, your tastes, quality, local ingredients and the Chef’s talent.
Capacity at these locations are often lower than grand ballrooms and larger receptions are often limited. Be sure to check availability and book well in advance.
