Historical Wedding Sites

Having worked for a Historical Society in a past life, the charm of a landmark always seems to make me swoon. These are places that exude “something special” happened here. Grand ole’ ballrooms, rustic barns {not the type that was built for or renovated for weddings, but truly crafted in the 18th or 19th century}, crumbling castles and period homes. We often look at rustic as being dated, rustic -chic or not suited for a formal, over the top event, but look at some of these places and your heart will start to pump a little harder and hopefully your imagination will run wild. These locations are available for wedding rentals, some seasonal and a few only once year. Mulford Farm in East Hampton, NY {where I used to spend countless hours a day} for instance, is so exclusive, it is only available once a year. You can see photos from a wedding, coordinated by Lyndsey Hamilton Events at Style Me Pretty

More of our favorite locations include { from left to right and images courtesy of } 1699 Isaac Wilson House, Branford House Museum, Clinton Academy, Mass Horticulture Museum – Elk Bank, Old Stone House Museum, Gibbet Hill. You will find more information on these properties on our soon to be launched website! You can expect to see more historical favorites in the future.
