Dreaming of a white wedding filled with snow, sleighs and warm wishes? Winter weddings are full of magic and surprises. The weather can also be a surprise. When selecting a wedding venue during the winter months, be sure to consider travel for both yourself and your guests. It is always good to have guests arrive a day or two early.   Another piece of advice is to host your event at one location. A location that is capable of hosting a  welcome event or rehearsal dinner, a ceremony and reception, potentially a farewell brunch and all of your guest rooms. No driving, no need to worry about the roads or the weather.

Northern New England and upstate New York have wedding venues to host both small and large winter events. A few of our favorite picks include:

New York { Lake Placid Lodge}

Vermont {Stowe Mountain Lodge, The Mountain Top Inn and Resort, The Equinox Resort and Spa, The Green Mountain Inn, The Pitcher Inn }

New Hampshire { Mount Washington Resort, The Balsams, Mountain View Grand, Sunset Hill House }
